Actually I wanted to save this entry for my birthday (so I decided to advance the date hehehe, no dont worry you havent got the date wrong!! It is the 25th August today) to that special person who kind words has insipired me so much and patiently waited... and to those who remembered me... many... many thanks and I dedicate this page to you all

Once a upon a time.... I did ........

The story goes this way .... I was never interested in study, my passion has always been cooking. My dad initially never agreed. Back in 1983, I was send by my cookery teacher Puan Walia, to join Shell Cooking Competition antara sekolah in KL. I had school exam that time so had to ask my parents permission to miss the test so that I can go for the competition. My dad said "No...". Sebab masa tu I budak baik.... I sign my dads signiture and went!! Nak jadi kan cerita, I had first place and my picture came out in newpaper. That is where it all begins.... Mana nak tumpah kuah kalau tak ke nasi...My dad realise I was serious! I left Convent Bukit Nanas in 1986 and join Diploma In Hotel and Catering in Henley College, Coventry. I cameback and help my mum Hajjah Yurni Amir in cookery books and programs. Mostly Majalah Famili and Dari Dapur Varianita. At night, I was attending evening class at English Hot Bread in PJ. There I got to know about National Bakery School in SouthBank University, once again... I applied without my dad knowing I finally received a letter of offer in 1989 and was jumping of joy. I remember I wasnt well that time, I was in in bed with high temperature and when my mum came in my room with the registered letter .... I was over the moon. The problem was... my dad had already registered me in KDU doing Business Studies. So I once again had to proove to my dad that this is what I want to do.... with the help from my mum and after my dad trip to UK to investigate whether such course and place exist, I once again left for UK. I was back in Malaysia in 1991, after completing my studies and start to write my first book in 1992 Masakan Minang. Then Kek Pilihan and followed by Aneka Biskut. I was invited to host a cookery tv program under Aminah Hassan in 1993. From then on my carrier as a Food Tester and Recipe Book Editor begins, I have wrote over 40 different tittles of cookery books under different wings including Cresent News in both Bahasa Malaysia and English. In 2000, some events that change my life happened.... I stop writting and have since moved to the UK. Cooking is now a hobby in my life and responsibilities to my family.... But things may change and you never know what the future takes... I may one day write again
Till that day comes.... I thank you all for your support all this while and for being so kind to me. To my mum, Hajjah Yurni Amir who has never fail to be by my side in strength... I thanked her for the "cooking blood" thats running in me. To my loving dad, Hj Mustafa Hj Ton. Thank you for believing in me and choosing the path that I need to lead, although it may not be the right one.
For now, I am just a mother who tries to keep the family and their tummy happy so please dont praise me too much. I am only learning myself....
Once again, from the very bottom of my heart thank you and thanks for the kind email.
