Banana Cake With Custard Sauce

Ingredients
50 g margarine
100 g sugar
3 eggs
225 g plain flour, sifted
1 teaspoon baking powder
⅓ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
3 bananas, mashed

Method
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Mix the margarine and sugar with a mixer until smooth.
Gradually add the eggs while mixing.
Add the flour, bicarbonate of soda and baking powder, and continue mixing.
Finally, add the mashed bananas, glazed cherries, choc bits and walnuts, and mix.
Pour the mixture in a greased cake tin bake for about 1 hour.

Custard Cream:
250 ml milk
100 g sugar
3 egg yolks (slightly beaten)
1 teaspoon cornstarch
vanilla essence

Method:
Place the milk over moderate heat in pan.
When the milk boils, turn down the heat. Mix sugar,egg yolk and sugar together.
Combine the egg yolk mixture in the milk bit by bit, making sure the mixture is completely dissolved in the milk. Now add the vanilla.
Now turn on the heat (not too high) and keep stirring until the mixture starts to boil again and then turn off the heat.
Pour the custard into serving dishes. And serve warm with banana cake. Garnish as wish.
